In 20+ years of marriage our best practice, by far, has been an annual getaway & check-in. Individually, we reflect on the last year, and then we come together to share and dream about the year ahead. It was in our early parenting days that we perfected the art of a 24-hour getaway and learned a valuable lesson: even a little (intentional connection & planning) goes a long way.
